Yaniv — frequently asked
I can't see games nearby, or other players can't find me.
Yaniv needs permission to use the local network. Go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network and make sure Yaniv is switched on. Also check that Wi-Fi or Bluetooth is on for every device, and that everyone is in the same room.
Does everyone need the app?
No. A seat at the table is separate from a phone, so someone without the app can play on a neighbour's phone.
Do I need an account or internet connection?
No account, and no internet connection. Games between devices run directly over the local network.
Someone called Yaniv and got 30 points. Why?
That is Asaf: if another player holds a hand equal to or lower than the caller's, the caller gets 30 penalty points and the other player none. The full rules are in the app.
How do I learn the game?
Start the tutorial from the home screen. It is a nine-turn game that teaches the rules as you play.
Which iPhones are supported?
iPhones running iOS 17 or later.
